With the Scorpion fs the roughest journey becomes an exhilarating ride.
Pot holes, cobblestones, gravel roads: the condition of your way ahead can be shocking indeed. From now on you are going to look forward to ride those little sweet challenges. Once you want to leave the beaten track, you are in need of a quick responding suspension, perfect roadholding, precise steering and an optimum of steadiness. Now, the Scorpion fs is your perfect choice.
The comfortable MacPherson front suspension has 6 cm (2.4 inches) of travel and uses a reliable spring and elastomer system. The Scorpion fs's most unique feature is the beefy wishbone and stabilizer bar system under the cruciform frame. This stops the trike from rolling in corners whilst preserving its suspension movement. The suspension struts are supported on the far end of the frame's rigid, large diameter crossbar close to the wheel. The adjustable whishbones are equipped with maintenance free bearings. With this design, our engineers were able to keep unsuspended masses at a minimum, achieving a rapidly responding front suspension action with an astonishing low weight from 17,9kg for this fully suspended touring trike. The suspension preload is adjustable. By exchanging the steel springs and varying the parallely positioned MCU-elastomer / spacer stack you can adjust the suspension characteristics, stiffness and progression to match your individual riding style and needs.
HP Velotechnik's Stabilizer System features an anti-roll bar for optimum stability when cornering hard. It optimizes control in the limit range, increases the steadiness and minimizes dipping while braking. The design's kinematic controls camber and the gauge of track and keeps the steering smoothly running - free from brake- or bump-steer. You will feel immediately the sportive handling and direct feedback from the road.
The suspension system is fully integrated into the frame design and isolates your body from road vibration. It is fully tuneable for performance and works completely independently of your pedalling force. We call this No-Squat suspension design, and it is a system that has been perfected over thousands of miles on HP's range of two wheelers and trikes. What it means is, if you accelerate uphill, you accelerate without power loss!

The BodyLink seat fits your body like a glove. Seat base angle, seat back angle and length are fully adjustable. The lower seat pan gives some side support, while the upper seat gives enough room so that you can lean into curves for maximum cornering speed. Optional headrest and airflow seat cushion for optimum ventilation. |

Alternatively, you can mount our breathable ErgoMesh seat. It comes with an ergonomic side cushioning that provides extra side support when cornering, and a practical seat pocket integrated into the back rest of the seat. For extra safety is is equipped with reflective stripes on its sides. Both seats fit onto the same frame mounts and can be removed from the bike within 15 seconds by qick release mounts - this comes extra handy when parking the bike in the rain or for transport in your car. The ErgoMesh seat will give you a 3 cm higher seat hight compared to the BodyLink seat; with the extra high ErgoMesh HS seat your seat will be 11 cm higher. A higher seat position offers a better view in traffic and you can get easlily on and off your trike, however, with a higher seat your trike could tip over sooner when riding fast in narrow corners. |

Comfortable ergo-bars under the seat for relaxed arms and wrists. HP Velotechnik’s refined steering geometry combines stable high-speed handling with a very small turning circle. Steering rod ends with maintenance free bushings; maintenance free cartridge bearings at the stem pivot. The handlebar width is adjustable. |

Protection for the chain and your trousers; the drivetrain is almost completely covered. Our special low friction chain tubes guarantee an efficient power transmission and silent action. |

Optimized protection with elegant lines: HP Velotechnik's own design department developped the "Trikefender", robust fenders specially designed for trike use. The inner surface and the bottom edge are designed to provide maximum rider protection against spray, especially when cornering. The mounting elements with integrated height adjustment are installed shielded facing inwards to the rider. The round profile with 2 ¼ inch width enables you to mount wide comfortable tires up to 2 inches, e.g. the Schwalbe BIG APPLE. |

Due to the low centre of gravity and the well balanced weight distribution the Scorpion fs handles fine even when braking hard. The standard disc brakes offer great stopping power, allowing for a fast yet safely controllable downhill ride. Each wheel has it’s own brake lever so you can concentrate the braking power at the inner wheel in sharp turns. HP Velotechnik’s steering geometry avoids any unsafe brake steer. Optional mechanically or hydraulically coupled front brakes for one-hand operation of both brakes. |

You can tow trailers (double track) of up to 88 lbs weight. (Without rear rack. Chariot chainstay clamp-on coupling is compatible with rear rack. For customers that use the Weber-coupling we provide an adaptor to attach the coupling even with racks installed.)
